Aarfie is live!

Aarfie launch in the next week – fingers crossed.

Gruff House

gruffhouse.comA hand drawn logo was the obvious choice for Gruff House, an artist-made toy site and store. For the layout we went with a floating-box variation with energetic colours and a little retro feel.

Complete WordPress integration brings all the usual benefits. Worth noting are the artist profile pages that can be updated by the artist and include their latest blog posts and a dynamically generated link to their work in the Gruff House store.

High-level Big Cartel modification seamlessly blends the shop with the rest of the site. Our work on the interaction between Big Cartel and WordPress provides a dynamic “latest products” showcase on the home page, artist profile links from product pages and vice versa.

This is a great example of how we can bring WordPress and Big Cartel design together to create something cohesive and unique.

Eco Peko Wholesale Order Form

Aarfie Sample ecopekoform/orderform.phpThe wonderful Justine from Eco Peko asked us if we could help with improving her wholesale order system. An online order form was the answer.

We wouldn’t normally post about a web form, but this one took a bit of work. Calculation as you fill it out, data validation prevents premature submittal and site integration so Justine can set the pricing and mark items out of stock, all from her WordPress edit page panel.

Darn Good Yarn

darngoodyarn.comFun! One more reason why we focus on serving the little guys, the projects are always such a positive and happy experience.

The vibrant colour of Darn Good Yarn’s products got our creativity flowing immediately. The preference was for out of the box web design, so we threw out the square and got busy.

We customised the WordPress integration to have the pattern, featured artists and press pages generated automatically from Darn Good Yarn’s posts (just tick a category box and the post is sent to the right page). The “chit-chat” section includes a feedback / guestbook page integrated with the site-wide comment monitoring.

Additional dynamic content includes contact and wholesale application forms, email subscription system and featured product widgets.

A quick header creation tied the shop design in with the rest of the site while keeping the project cost to a minimum.

Badge Town V2

badgetown.comBadge Town required a site upgrade to incorporate more details and a product showcase. We ended up with a five page design, all in php to allow a dynamic header (and future dynamic content if necessary).

A slideshow at the front page gets a product preview to the visitor right away, with the example page displaying a more extensive showcase with full width images (we love big images!).

For the shop (and around the site) we created nice loud and bright graphics for the buttons. Because of the fixed product range, with no need for stock management or regular addition of new products, the shopping cart is PayPal rather than Big Cartel to keep things simple.

Eco Peko

ecopeko.comEco Peko came to us with an established logo and a look-book and said, “we want our web site to look like this”.

A floating-box layout was the best choice for replicating the look-book design. We pulled the best elements from the book and worked from there. Our final touch was the sun bathed cotton field background that brings a great warmness to the site.

The front page uses images and little text to cleanly and swiftly define what Eco Peko is all about. The stand alone shop link has some pop to draw focus. Some low-level Big Cartel design ensured a continuity between the shop and main web site without breaking the project budget.

WordPress integration allows Eco Peko to maintain their own stockists list, a thumbnail-layout press page and a news section. Email subscription handling and wholesale application web forms add extra function to the web site.

Avid Group

avidgroup.netA corporate site for a successful power generation solutions provider. We started out with producing the bold and geometric logo. We then went with a floating-box style layout, creating a tight focus on the content. The de-saturated colour palette adds to the professional and efficient feel of the site.

WordPress integration allows Avid Group to expand their experience list in-house and a password protected staff area provides access to shared company files from remote work locations.

Badge Town

badgetown.comThis one’s a non-WordPress project. A straight to the point, single page html site for 1″ buttons. We hand-drew the logo and used a full-width, bright image to create a memorable impact.

Keep it simple!

Bears Are O.K.

bearsareok.comWe just completed this sweet single page hand drawn web site for a fun musical side-project. We would have loved to draw every single bear to give them all a unique personality, but repeating images saved a lot of time and cost and the impression of a huge bear crowd is still well achieved.

We integrated WordPress with the site, even though it is a single page. Hey, it’s what we do. Now text can be changed and new songs can be added in seconds.

The bear in the plane is our favourite.
